BE IT RESOLVED THAT: the CDC recommend that the focus of the community hub feasibility study application be a Club 580 hub that includes the library. The Town owns the building, maintenance and utilities are reasonable, it is in a good location, accessible, and allows for further expansion. The study would provide the information necessary to move forward with such a project.

WHEREAS resource-based tourism, learning, and outdoor experiences are the highest sought tourist activities in Ontario according to Tourism Development Trends and Bancroft is perfectly positioned to offer these activities; AND WHEREAS a Earth Sciences Centre masterplan has been completed; BE IT RESOLVED THAT: the Community Development Committee request that Council proclaim Bancroft as a whole be thought of as an “Earth Sciences Centre” while working towards the funding and construction of a physical location for the centre; AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the Community Development Committee recommend to Council that the Town apply for funding for a qualified person to develop product and aid in its delivery.
