Special Meeting of Council

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Bancroft does hereby approve of the open session agenda dated May 26, 2026, as presented.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT: the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Bancroft does hereby receive the Town of Bancroft submission to the McDougall Community Contest for information purposes.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT: the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Bancroft does hereby receive the update and recommendation regarding the award of RFP 04-2026 - Bancroft Dam - Dam Safety Review; AND FURTHER THAT Council awards RFP 04-2026 to Hiland for the Core Scope, Supplemental Scope and Optional Scope of work as described in the proposal documents; AND FURTHER THAT Council direct staff to discuss entering into a cost sharing agreement with Bracebridge Generation Limited (BGL) to have the study include both Town and BGL assets for the Core Scope and Supplemental Scope of work; AND FURTHER THAT Council authorize the Mayor and Clerk to endorse and execute a Contract Acceptance document as described above and undertake any other actions deemed necessary.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT: the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Bancroft does hereby receive the report outlining Town of Bancroft’s process to declare lands surplus and the process to initiate the disposition of land, for information purposes only.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT: the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Bancroft does hereby direct staff to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to support appraisals of Town-owned properties; AND FURTHER THAT the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Bancroft does hereby direct staff to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to support the potential listing and sale of Town-owned properties.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT: the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Bancroft receives the Landfill Optimization Study Report for the Dungannon Landfill from Cambium Inc. and the accompanying staff report for information and discussion purposes.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT: the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Bancroft does hereby agree to defer the decision on whether to engage Cambium Inc. to implement all of the recommendations contained in the Landfill Optimization Study Report to a Special Meeting to be held in July.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Bancroft does hereby move into closed session pursuant to the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001, Section 239 (2)(e) litigation or potential litigation. General Nature: Update on Arbitration Proceedings

BE IT RESOLVED THAT a by-law to confirm the proceedings of the meeting of Council held on May 26, 2026 be hereby given a first, second and third reading, and be finally passed, signed, sealed and numbered By-Law 39-2026.

RESOLVED THAT the Special Meeting of Council hereby close at 4:28 pm.
