BE IT RESOLVED THAT: the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Bancroft does hereby receive the Official List of Candidates, which certifies the following six (6) individuals, who have signified in writing that they are legally qualified to hold office and consented to accept the office if they are appointed to fill the Council vacancy: Anderson, Dale Colton, Darlene Forde, James Lawerence, Kevin Lucas, Tyler Mountney, Aileen AND FURTHER THAT: the six (6) individuals be considered for appointment to fill such vacancy.

WHEREAS a vacancy was created in the Office of Councillor on April 10th, 2024; AND WHEREAS in accordance with Section 262(1) of the Municipal Act , 2001, S.O. c. 25 (the Act) the Council declared the Office of Councillor vacant on April 10th, 2024; AND WHEREAS under Section 263 of the Act, a Municipality shall, within 60 days of the declaration, either pass a by-law requiring a by-election or appoint someone who has consented to fill the vacancy; AND WHEREAS Council of the Corporation of the Town of Bancroft on April 10th, 2024 resolved that the vacant position be filled through the appointment of a person qualified to hold office and selected through a public appointment process; AND WHEREAS at its Special Meeting of Council held on May 27th, 2024, Council selected a person qualified to hold office and who has consented to fill the vacancy, to be appointed to the vacant Councillor position. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT: Council of the Corporation of the Town of Bancroft does hereby appoint Kevin Lawrence to fill the Office of Councillor for the remainder of the current Term of Council.
